I think about Carol and her loving family every single day. All the comments read here are evidence of an amazing woman who touched countless lives both personally and professionally. Nearly 40 years ago I (or rather my son) was one of the lucky recipients of one of Carol's creations, a soft and squishy stuffed frog. He's been with me through a 3 moves in 3 different states and a whole nursing career. Today he is a playmate of my young grandson. Just yesterday he was hugged by both my grandson and me. I can still feel the warmth and humor that was sewn into him by his creator.

Carol and I were classmates in the class of 1973 at the University of Rochester's School of Nursing. She was one of the smartest students in our class, and admirably self disciplined, organized and efficient - she would always have her papers typed up and handed in before any of the rest of us had even chosen our topics .

Our class just had our 50th reunion, and we so wished Carol had been able to join us. She will be remembered with great fondness and respect. Martha

I remember Carol as a very sweet girl who was so organized and always ahead of many of us when it came to our assignments! She knew what she wanted to research and what her paper was going to be about while I was still pondering!
Blessings on her soul and her family. Know that her sweet spirit watches over you!

What a loss for Carol’s family, for her friends and for her community! She was a trailblazer for the role a Nurse Practitioner could take in the excellent deliverance of patient care. In her case, it was delivering caring to moms and their newborns. But a role she assumed, just as importantly, was as a teacher, mentor, coach to physicians in training.
I offer my deepest condolences to Jim and the family. May her memory be a blessing.

Heaven gained an angel today. Carol was a special person and it was my privilege to have known her. I know Carol left a wealth of precious memories for all the Giffi's and Lindstrom's to carry in your hearts forever.

Carol touched so many people and was successful in everything she did. Above all, her love for Jim was mentioned daily with time well spent. She adored Tessa and Gus and was forever proud of Caron and Cathy. We all loved her so much. Our hearts are broken. We love you, Carol! WELL DONE GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT.

My heart is broken for you all. Carol was a true Gift to everyone who was lucky enough to cross her path. She taught so many of us how to be the best nurse we could be. She literally caught one of my babies barehanded and was there for two others. This world has losses a true gift and gem. My deepest sympathy for all of you. She always talked so fondly of you all. She loved you all so much.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Carol and her family. It has been a privilege to work with Carol for so many years in the pursuit of the Ob/Gyn Research Efforts. She was always involved and willing to provide expert guidance and assistance. Thank you for the memories. Rich and Judy Miller.
