Journal entry by Carole Klein

Thanks to all for the wonderful supportive comments.   They have really kept my spirits up.  These last two weeks have been the hardest, because I am used to having enough energy to get through most of the day.      I've been really, really tired, spending most of the afternoons lying on the bed, with 2-4 cats (not always the same ones!).

Yesterday was the final radiation treatment, and the techs couldn't have been nicer.  They have been so sweet, kind and patient  every day, and this day, when they came back in the room to tell me we were finished, they were wearing Party Hats, and waving shiny Pompoms, like cheerleaders!    It was so much fun!   We laughed a lot and said our goodbyes.   I will genuinely miss them.

Sometime in January, I will go see Dr Raj, the medical oncologist who saved Michael's life, and get some manner of pill that I will take for five years, to suppress estrogen.   That is pretty minimal, considering what I've been through for the last six months.   I'm going to say that this is over.    Hooray!
