Aloha,
On May 13th we had an intimate, traditional Hawaiian ash scattering ceremony honoring my Mom. The ceremony was performed on the beautiful, Mokule’ia Beach and began with the sound of the conch shell blow, following “The Chant of Aloha.” Wilmont Kahaialii then sang one of my mother’s favorite songs, “Somewhere Over The Rainbow.” The family took turns speaking and honoring my mom. We all cried and laughed, while listening to the memories each of us had to share. After prayers, the ceremony ended with the family scattering her ashes, along with flowers into the ocean. She is now free to travel to all of the places in the world, she desired to go.
For those of you in Washington, we are planning to Celebrate Carol-Ann, on July 4th, at her Ames Lake home. Details to follow.
The family requests that memorial gifts be designated to the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center for the Carol-Ann O’Mack Endowed Research Fund. Memorials can be made online or mailed in; please see link and mailing address below.
