Johnson family, you don't know me and I'm sorry I didn't even know of Carl's passing until recently. I met Carl and Maria too I believe at an F5 trip to Banff Canada. We worked together on many customer projects in Iowa. Carl was a rare man of faith, ethics, and kindness in this high tech sales rat race. I'm just another person blessed to have known and worked with Carl. I hope your entire family has found peace through support and God's love. God bless you all!

Maria, Matt, and Alex. I just learned of the loss of Carl. I am shocked and heartbroken for your family. He was such a happy guy and always saw the positive in all people and situations. He was a wonderful neighbor and the true meaning of a family guy. My deepest sympathy to your family.

Childhood friends growing up just a few houses apart. We were passionate about playing and following sports...shooting hoops in his driveway...played little league baseball together - Carl was always the best player on the team! Also, listening to music in the cool bedroom he had set up in his parent's basement. RIP Carl...

Oh Carl Carl Carl. This isn't how I wanted to start my Saturday. First, I love you and I'm sorry I haven't called in a while. Second, our old meeting place got shut down by the covids. Boy could we have a long talk about that, but where would we meet? I'm sorry I never really got to hear you play. Thank you for your deep soul and all of those great talks that would go on for hours. I know I will see you again, and when I do I can relax by knowing I must have have made it to heaven.

I really enjoyed Carl and his great company. The best was around the fire when he would play many requests and my favorites were John Hiatt songs and of course his own song "Rain". This song deeply moved me always no matter what the setting was. My hearfelt condolences to all of your family. We will all miss our brother Carl. Love and Peace

Truly a good and holy man who oozed love, joy and compassion. Carl now has the full experience of heaven but I think he had many glimpsesof it here on earth - with his music and family and friends. Only many, many great and wonderful memories of times with Carl. Even though our paths go in different ways we are still deeply rooted in freindship. One of my most endearing memories is how he'd say many times, "Hey, Kurtzy, you mug!" And my reply was, "Hey, Carl, you mug!" Carl, keep on singin'! Until we meet again...mug.

Through my parents I got a fistful of brothers. By God's design I got a brother in Carl. If you were to ask who among friends could be more trustworthy, more caring, more creatively inspiring, more cerebral, spiritual, that surprising younger-mentor-across-decades . . . don't wait up for an answer.
And there's a bunch of guys out there nodding their heads, saying the same thing.
We're gonna miss you bad, Carlos. You left a lasting mark on us, and we're better because of you. Save some standing room in the Helluva Band.
