Tina’s Story

Site created on September 12, 2020

Friday 9/11/2020 Tina was diagnosed with Stage IIIC1 endometrial cancer. The plan for treatment includes 18 weeks of chemotherapy to begin approximately 6 weeks from the date of the hysterectomy which was performed on 8/26/2020.  Radiation therapy will then follow the chemotherapy.

Tina is currently recovering very well from the surgery.  She is feeling healthy and keeping busy.  The poor air quality and COVID pandemic make it difficult to be outdoors as much as she would like, but the treadmill is coming in handy.  While the next 7 months will be challenging, she feels strong, prepared and well supported by friends and family.

This website was started as a way to communicate with each other and keep everyone informed.  It can also be used to share any needs for assistance for those who wish to help in some way. For now send all your positive thoughts and prayers to Tina, Lori and Tazio.  The months ahead may be challenging but together we are strong.  We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

I am thankful to each of you for being there for Lori and I throughout my cancer treatments.  We loved all the visits, phone calls, text/emails. It kept us going. It has been many months since I have posted here. Much has happened since my last post in February including  I completed a 16 week exercise program specifically for Cancer Survivors called Triumph Fitness. This has helped tremendously in my ability to return to work full time at the end of June. We got to see Tazio graduate with honors from UC San Diego in bio chem in June. Traveled to Santa Cruz to visit old friends over the summer. Took another trip to San Diego to see Tazio in September and we stayed with my childhood friends. Traveled to Portland, OR in October. Reconnected with old friends from the past. I hope you all are well. My rechecks every 3 months are going well and hopefully will continue and I will get  my port out in a year.
