I hope everyone is staying home, if they are able to, and keeping safe. These are incredibly scary times and I pray daily for all the world. Please choose faith over fear and trust in the Lord.
Mom and I went to Mayo yesterday for her 7th chemo treatment. She is in the middle of her adjuvant treatments (post surgery chemo therapy). She had one adjuvant treatment 3 weeks ago and another yesterday. It went very well. I have to admit it was a bit scary being there but we believe the benefit outweighs the risk. These adjuvant treatments are highly recommended to “clean up” any possible remaining cancer in her body and to minimize the chances of the cancer returning. The doctor yesterday commented on how well mom is handling the treatments and said she doesn’t look like chemo patient. She is so strong and undeniably beautiful. I look at her and I see such incredible bravery and beauty. I am so proud of her and I thank God every day for giving her the strength and health to push through this. She truly is a warrior and I am so honored that this amazing woman is my Mom. We found out yesterday that her CA 125 number is currently at 12!!! Wonderful news!!!
Mom’s next chemo treatment is on April 27th. We are praying that this will be her last. The doctors say if everything goes as planned after the treatment they will consider her in remission!! She will continue to have CT scans starting every 3 months and then less frequently as time goes by.
Mom and I were talking on the way home yesterday about everything that has happened in the last 9 months or so. When mom was first diagnosed a lot of different doctors were bringing up things to us like palliative care, quality of life, that time is not on her side, etc. We smiled at each other knowing that mom beat the odds and actually proved a lot of very smart doctors wrong!!
We thank God every single day and continue to have faith over fear. Thank you so much for all of your prayers, He hears us. ♥️🙏🏽 Stay safe!
Peace and love to all!
