Camdyn is officially out of the ICU and has begun the education process of his new life with diabetes. Camdyn went in for his surgery approximately 7:30a on Tuesday 02/18 and was finished around 7:30p the same day. Due to the large incision, drains, and IV's that Camdyn had he was heavily sedated for a few days. 
There were certain days where he was making no progress, and some where there was amazing progress, but of course there were days where it felt like for every 2 steps forward they took 1 step back instantly. One of Camdyn's achievements was getting up and walking half way down the hallway day 5 after surgery. I know that doesn't sound like a whole bunch but when you have a 6 inch incision down your abdomen, those muscles were not too happy to be woken up. Just a few days later the doctors decided that Camdyn had made enough progress that he could be moved from the ICU to Diabetes/Endocrinology Floor on 02/25. 
As stated earlier Camdyn has begun his education process of his life after his TPIAT surgery, learning how to use his insulin pump, new diet, and much more. Camdyn is doing such an amazing job and I am envious of the struggle he has gone through at such a young age and how much more stronger it will make him. Updates will come as time progresses.
