I just met Bill in Sept at the Cape May R Rendezvous.
He entertained us with his expert birding and humor.
BT3 will always be the “ gold standard”, not only of birders, but of the human race.
And every time I see a cowbird , I’ll just smile.
I met BT3 at the San Diego Bird Festival last year, and have been listening to his podcasts for several years. Although I did not know him personally, he inspired me in many ways, with his sense of humor, caring personality, and willingness to share. He was taken from us far too early, but his work will live on for many years. Fly free, Bill. We will miss you. You have touched the lives of so many.
I learned from a Hospice nurse that many people die in the same spirit as they have lived. Bill, you endured your illness with humor, tenacity, and grace. Like one of your great presentations, excellent books, or a very birdy walkabout that ended too soon, you leave us wanting more.
Hugs to Julie, Phoebe, Liam, Elsa, Wendy, and all the good folks at BWD. You are missed more than words can express.
Rest in peace dear Bill. I hope that you are traveling to see all the birds of our wonderful planet now. We are holding your family and friends in our hearts wishing them strength and peace. Good Birding!
So sorry to lose you way too soon. With buckets of bucket lists left undone. But you've planted seeds in your children and all who have known and been inspired by you. We'll keep on with your bucket list and do what we can where we can. Your life was absolutely well lived. Thank you, BT3. XO
Hi from AuSable Valley Audubon in MI. We r saddened to hear about your health crises. But knowing you for only that one wonderful weekend called the Tawas Pt Bird Fest, you showed such tenacity to complete one goal after another no matter what. So that drive will carry you through the tough days. Our prayers are with you for success in fighting this thing. We LOVE your BWD. Thank u so much for creating such a super educational tool.
