Continuing to send good thoughts and prayers for Bill and all who are caring for him. Many blessings to you in these next few days!
Peace to all! Marty
Thanks, Wendy. Thanks for giving a faraway friend a glimpse into your lives with your beautifully written update. I’m sending you both love and support every day. Stay strong and positive.
Powerful to say the least. I work in pediatric palliative care and have seen the toll cancer takes on patients and their families. I was stunned to hear that Bill can tolerate Lonesome Dove....as I recall there's wood thrush call in that movie that has no business being in that part of the country. It ruined it for me! (half said tongue-in-cheek). Keeping all of you in my prayers.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, Wendy for being who you are. Bill is blessed to have you in his life. And equally blessed to have such a magnificent family and flock of friends to support and comfort him in the direst of circumstances.
Wendy, that was truly one of the most poignant, heart-wrenching, articulate things I have ever read. Your love for Bill shines so brightly. He must thank the gods for you every single hour.
Thank you for revealing yourself to this degree, though it breaks my heart.
All I can say is keep on keepin’ on
Thank you for sharing your side of the story, Wendy. I don’t know you, and know Bill just through a couple of encounters, but I’ve been deeply touched by his illness. You are in my thoughts every single day.
Wendy, You are very brave to share your story with all of the details of the pain, the fear and the love you share for each other. How wonderful that the two of you have such a fantastic extended family to help Bill and to support each other. Bill has always been the highest energy, most creative person I have ever met. He is also the most patient exciting, and the most understanding bird guide I have ever met. ( I have watched him mesmerize non-birders when he shares little tidbits of information and lets them look in his scope). I can only image that the energy level, fear and pain of this horrible disease must be a huge shock to his psyche. BUT when I listen to you describe how he takes advantage of every opportunity to find some enjoyment or laughter in his current life, and how he has done his best to reach out to those who love him and to support them - It is just SO BILL. He is a very special man who has touched a lot of lives in a positive way. We think of him and of you, Julie, the kids and Bill's mom every day and we send you all our hope and love that the chemo has made a difference.
