I want to express my condolences to Bryan’s family and friends. I am very saddened to hear of Bryan’s passing and I thought of him often over the last week. He was a true gentleman even while in severe distress. May he Rest In Peace.

I want to share a quick story that I think typifies Bryan as best as I knew him. Bryan came out to Pine Ridge a few months ago to help minister on the Pine Ridge Reservation. We came across a Lakota mom and her 6 kids who were living in a camper because the husband had just physically abused the mom in front of her kids. The oldest boy, Tristan, was 17 and was trying to protect his family even still as he slept in a tent outside the camper to keep watch in case the dad came back to hurt the mom. Tristan was a huge kid, but we all saw he had a soft heart, and it was clear they had been through a lot. We dropped off some supplies for the family and left that night but not before Bryan found Tristan and embraced him...Tristan received the father's love that Bryan gave him and they embraced in tears for minutes...I heard Bryan telling him that he was a good son, and he was doing a good job for his mom...I will never forget that scene and I think it is the best tribute I can offer about my friend Bryan. I will miss him and our family prays for you Jane and Marya.

Jane and Marya I knew your family from church you were a beautiful family and a true example of love. I am so very sorry for your loss, but Praise God that Bryan is now living pain free and in the arms of our Amazing Creator! I will be praying for you and all your family in the coming days. I just wanted to let you know that Jennifer and I have been praying for both you and Marya. We loved Bryan... he never hesitated to pray with us or speak encouragement to us. I just want to thank God for blessing of knowing him, and I look forward to seeing him again someday.
