It’s been a month since we received  the phone call notifying us of Bruce’s passing; a very long month of goodbyes.  

Goodbye to my Father-in-Law, goodbye to the spouse of my beloved Mother-in-Law, goodbye to the man who raised my husband, goodbye to the Grandpa who had plans to move to Florida and go fishing with his grandsons.

Goodbye to all those hopes and dreams, goodbye to seeing his grandsons marry someday or ever getting to hold a great-grandchild in his arms.  Goodbye to all the stories left untold, and to any future adventures.

Goodbye to the house Bruce and Dot lived in for 20+ years; the upcoming sale of their home and move to FL is bittersweet.  We are so joyful to have Dot come live close to us while missing Bruce’s presence terribly and feeling the ache of our loss.

Goodbye to the place where many, many happy memories were created.  Goodbye to the man who was instrumental in helping to make them.

We hold these all these remembrances  in our hearts and open the door to all the anticipated “Hellos” in store for us as we embark on this new journey into the future.
