Hello Friends and Family,
Thank you for visiting Brett's site. In an effort to help Deborah answer the questions that we all have, we are creating this site to keep everyone up to date. This will be a great place to come for updates, to ask questions, and to offer support. Thank you again for visiting, and we love and appreciate every one of you.
Currently: Brett spent four days in the VA hospital due to general malaise and bad reactions to chemo. His kidney function has steadily decreased which led to buildup of fluid around several organs. His platelet count and white cell count are also critically low.
Brett was discharged Saturday afternoon. He finally had a good night of much needed rest on Saturday night, and was able to spend a little time Sunday afternoon watching football with a little of that twinkle that we all know and love in his eyes.
Moving forward, there are several follow up appointments scheduled for Monday. One of the main goals for these appointments is to decide whether moving to hospice care is appropriate at this time. We will know more about that after Monday and will keep updates current as we have them.
Brett is physically weak and tires easily, and he is not currently able to take many phone calls. Deborah's efforts have been and currently are focused on patient care and spending as much quality time with Brett as possible.
Utilizing this platform for updates will help streamline information sharing, question answering, and will be a source of support for both of them at this time. We thank you all so much for your understanding, and for your concern for Brett. Your love is the best testament to what an incredible human Brett Wilson is.
