It is with a heavy heart I share this news today. Early this morning Brent passed away peacefully and pain free. We will have more information on the services soon.

Please say a prayer for the Meyer family.

And a huge thank you to everyone who has been there for us through this journey.

Today Brent & his family had the honor of throwing out the first pitch at the 5pm game of the state tournament. How awesome is it that it is in New Prague this year. Those of you who know Brent know just how big of a part baseball played in his life. From playing, to coaching, managing and umpiring! We would like to say a HUGE thank you to the New Prague State Tournament Committee for making this happen and thinking of Brent.

Hello everyone,

I jump on here to give you all an update on Brent.

On August 15th Brent celebrated his 54th birthday with his family, what a special day!! He also has gotten to enjoy a few family weddings!

Unfortunately Brent’s most recent MRI shows new tumor growth. His neuro oncologist, advised us that the next step would be to continue oral chemo and add IV chemotherapy. Which we will now start in the upcoming weeks.

I ask for all of you to send your prayers to Brent to give him strength through this next phase of treatment!!

As always,

Thank you for your continued support & prayers.

Going into today we had no idea what to expect. Today Brent had his initial post radiation MRI.

And guess what. We had GREAT NEWS!!! The tumor has shrunk by 70%!!!!! Now that the radiation has the tumor on the ropes the doctors plan to keep it that way by continuing on with a strong regimen of chemotherapy!

As for now, this week, Brent & the whole Meyer & Elder clan head up to paradise... Gull Lake, MN for a relaxing week with the family.

We will all have a little bigger smile on our face this coming week with this wonderful news.

Thank you all for the continued prayers & support. We could not do this without being surrounded by an amazing community.

As always,

#MeyerStrong

Today Brent got to celebrate his Mom’s 75th birthday! He was surrounded by family and enjoyed a great afternoon. Brent continues to receive radiation/chemotherapy and for the most part has been reacting positively to the treatment! On top of all this good news we’re coming down the home stretch with only 9 radiation treatments left! Brent continues to take each day one at a time and is so thankful for all of your thoughts, prayers and kind words!

With love,

The Meyers

Hello #MeyerStrong,

Sorry it’s been so long since our last update. We are now at the marathon part of this cancer battle.

Brent’s first week of treatment went very well. Radiation went great and so did all of his therapies.

Fortunately, we were able to bring Brent HOME yesterday!!!!

Here he will continue to go to radiation everyday and continue therapy at home!!

It’s a blessing that Brent is able to be back in New Prague, surrounded by this amazing support system. We are so incredibly thankful and blessed for all of the support we have been given.

With love,

The Meyers

Hello #MeyerStrong Crew!

Some positive news on this Sunday. Brent got his feeding tube out yesterday and has been eating what he wants since he passed his swallow test! He’s excited for a Diet Pepsi!!

We also found out we will start proton beam radiation tomorrow. He will have radiation five days a week. We’ll find out how many weeks as we go.

Prayers that this first week of treatment goes well are highly encouraged.

With love,

The Meyers

So as all of you may have noticed we have recently had a medical emergency in our family, on Tuesday (4/3) I found my Dad passed out in our kitchen. After initially taking him by ambulance to Mayo Clinic New Prague campus, doctors initially thought he was suffering a stroke. At this time we decided that it was best to move Dad to Abbott-Northwestern hospital in Minneapolis. After having the chance for a more thorough examination it was determined that Dad has a mass on the left side of his brain. Doctors decided it was time for an MRI so we could get a better look at the mass. After this was completed the doctors unfortunately informed us that the mass was a tumor that is most likely cancerous. We have yet to determine a formal treatment plan, but we are determined to be aggressive and do all we can moving forward. We cannot thank you all enough for every single thought, prayer and kind note we have received throughout this week, it means more to us than any of you could ever imagine. We will do our best to keep you all well informed as we move forward.

With love,

The Meyers
