Journal entry by Stephanie Moore

After 76 days, Brecken Anthony Moore was officially discharged from the NICU. Little man spent this week proving to his care team he was ready to leave. That included mastering on-demand feeding, breathing on his own without any ‘spells’ and continuing to gain weight. It’s amazing to see how far he’s come. Being born 12 weeks early was so scary but I’m happy to report,  he’s coming home healthy and without any complications. God is so good. Our little two pound, 15 ounce and 15 inch long baby left the hospital weighing seven pounds, nine ounces and is now 19.5 inches long.
COVID has made this entire process a lot more challenging but nothing has been as tough as keeping Sawyer away from his brother. Today, we surprised Sawyer with his brother and it was as special as you can imagine. Tears all around.
It’s pretty amazing that we’re even here as a family of four. Years of IVF, pregnant during a pandemic, life-threatening pregnancy complications and our sweet baby being born twelve weeks early.
We couldn’t have gotten through all these ups and downs without the love and support from our family and friends. This will be the last blog post but don’t worry, I’ll continue to keep everyone updated on our beautiful and crazy journey as a family of four.

Xoxo
