Newest Update

Journal entry by John Bral

Hey y’all!

We’d love to provide an update on these TWO year old twinnies! Where did that time go?!

Adley Jean continues to amaze us and her doctors ❤️ her neurosurgeon is happy with her ETV/CPC being stable and has moved her check ups to once a year!

Her pulmonologist is happy with her lung development. As bad as it sucked, we all had a bout with Covid this fall and Adley handled it like a champ. Her O2 numbers were amazing without any oxygen support.

Her oncology team continues to report her tumor isn’t growing and is stable.

Her GI/feeding team is very happy with her growth and her reflux continues to be managed through medication. We started seeing an intensive PO (eating by mouth) therapist at the U of I Center for Disabilities and Development. We see her usually for a 4 day stretch and do 1-2 hours of feeding therapy a day in-person. Adley is doing great and making great progress with this. She is still 100% feed through her G-tube, but the progress she is making in her Therapy has us hopeful she will one day eat by mouth.

We will more than likely go back to the heart cath lab in December to have her stent stretched again as she grows. But, her cardiology team is happy with how her heart looks.

Overall, we praise God as she isn’t showing any signs of physical or developmental delays!

She still has those beautiful curls and is a little spit fire 😉 she’ll be the one to warn teachers about when they’re in school 😆 she loves loves loves her “moo” stuffy. Loves “neighs”, tractors, “marmers” (farmers), papa’s deer, and watching horse and cow videos. Her and Ruthie, one of our cats, are BFFs.

Lainey Joyce continues to grow and develop without any hiccups. She could eat a whole tub of yogurt no problem if mom and dad would let her. She loves to dress herself and won’t go a day without her pearl necklace. She loves loves loves her kitty stuffy. She’s sleeping with a big girl blanky, loves to go on walks, and is very protective of her little sis ❤️

Thank you all for your continued prayers and support!
