Bo ’s Story

Site created on September 16, 2020

Thursday September 10 went like normal for Bo. That afternoon he went to the neighbor's to help with something in the garden. The neighbor filled us in later that he had gotten a really bad headache that made him feel sick so he had to go home. He came home and fell asleep in the recliner. When he woke up he got in his wheelchair. Bunny and Mykaela believed his blood sugar was low because he was not making sense. His incoherence quickly turned to a seizure and 911 was called. When first responders and paramedics arrived they administered glucose and other meds as he was also agitated and combative. There was no change and another seizure. It was decided to take him to North Memorial in Robbinsdale by life flight from the scene. When he arrived he went directly to ICU. He could not have visitors that night due to Covid-19. They did a CT but due to his agitation it was not very clear and they did a MRI. At that point they found 5 lesions on his brain. They do not like to biopsy the brain so they did another CT of chest and abdomen. The CT showed nodules in his lung but close too aorta to biopsy. September 15 Bo had brain surgery to remove and biopsy one of the lesions that is the size of an acorn. Bo is presently in North Memorial ICU in Robbinsdale. He is on a ventilator and heavily sedated. Biopsy results should be back in 2 to 3 days.
