When I was waiting for surgery almost 19 years ago, the Taize refrain, "In the Lord I'll be Ever Thankful" came to me as a gift from the Spirit. My anxiety eased and I felt God's presence. And yes I was thankful and I am ever thankful that the Spirit is accompanying you also. God bless and prayers continue.
I was happy to see your smiling face, 'though only for a moment this morning. I wondered if you were live then, or a photo ? Keep up your positive thinking ,and feeling the good wishes and prayers, and you will be remodeling your house instead of (in)your head before you know it! Tell Daryl to stand clear! Praying for your continued healing and good news from your doctors.
I hear you with your writing that you walk hand-in-hand with God on the journey. I hear you that you are learning to take each moment as it comes and to continue finding the joys of life. Life is about learning, learning, learning. I just keep thinking what a wonderful helpmate you have in Daryl.
I think of you daily. It's a personal and unique journey for each of us who experience it; we may emerge never quite the same, but closer to God and sustaining faith.
The good news is that God also walks with us one day at a time--we are never alone. When we can't dance, God sits with us; when we can't run, God walks with us. May you feel God moving with you this day.
You know that we have been through our "one day at a time" journey too. I have happy, silly memories from those days of the tiniest things that cheered us on. There was that bump in the road we walked over every visit, saying "See that bump? Don't step on it!" and then laughing. We looked forward to those reminders of everyday life and of course they were present everywhere.
Craig and I are thinking of you, and praying for you, every day. We hope that some bumps in your road will bring laughter to your day while the ocean breeze caresses your face.
I think I have an idea how you are feeling. I pray you can trust like you kept telling me and get a grip on uncertainty and fear. Your journey brings back many memories for me. I love you and am praying for you. If i can help let me know!
I recently read about a woman who recalled her mother telling her, “Sometimes you have to lay down to look up!” That stuck with me as I thought about the times God slows me down—or stops me in my tracks—so I will take the time to focus on Him. He blesses us in all we do, but these quiet times are special in their own way.
