Journal entry by Bonnie Funk

The journey began in the spring of 2017.... 2 weeks before my birthday. We got the news that my husband Wilmer had esophagus cancer. He went through all the usual stuff like Chemo and then surgery to remove his esophagus. I had days where I would walk around and not know what I was doing or have days of weeping. He seemed to recover well and even with the survival rate stats I began to forget that he had been so sick. Funny how quickly my thinking changed to one of calm and assurance. And we had a good year. Until just before Christmas 2018...........the eating started to again be a problem.  Now after many tests and prayers...... it’s back worse than before..... I try to be strong for my grown children and all my grandchildren but it’s very hard. I have been with this man for 49 years........... he’s my best friend, my confidant, my everything.........
i cant begin to explain how upset my whole being is and I know I have to be careful as I’m holding it all in....... so I can be strong for the man who has literally taken care of me all my life...I’m in a bubble, some days I don’t know which end is up.  But this I do know....... God is in control and he has a plan although different from mine, I know I’m getting my strength  from Him. He’s in my bubble with me........ but oh is it painful.
