This is hard news. It's been such a long hard journey for you all. I've been asking Jesus to heal Bob and continue to do so now. Praying for the God of all comfort to show himself to everyone there.

Joan, you and Bob are inspiration for so many of us. You are heroes in our eyes. None of us expect these trials (crosses), but most of us get them at one time or another. Some of us are such wimps we don’t want to fight. But God doesn’t give us these challenges to toss to the wind, but to bear witness to his love in good times & bad—just like our marriages. “I love you thru it ALL!” says our Lord though we are so imperfect, and so we say to each other. We imitate Christ as best we can in our frailty, even all the way to the Cross & Crucifixion... for perfection... the only kind of perfection we should ever desire. You have such a beautiful family! What blessings! What comforts to you both to see all that came from your love THROUGH & WITH GOD’S LOVE. You are in our prayers still & will be. May you grow closer through these times, to each other, and to the one who is eternal and perfect in His love for all of us. Oh Joan, I am just so very sorry. Not the outcome we have prayed for and hoped for but we continue to trust Jesus. Thank both of you for continually being light in the darkness. You have both been beautiful examples of the vow “in sickness and in health” and you have loved well. I continue to pray the peace of Jesus that passes all understanding over Bob, you, and your precious family.

Distance is hard at times like this but we know our love and prayers travel across the miles. Bob, you and all of the kids are mentioned by name at every Mass, Rosary and evening prayer our family undertakes. Hugs and more hugs
