I am so glad I got a chance to talk to Robert just a couple days before he passed. He seemed fine at that time. My own father died when had just turned 18. In fact, that's when I first met Bob, when he visited the funeral home in his 1951 Ford with some friends. I never knew my father as an adult. You had many years to appreciate your dad as an adult. That is precious. May he rest in peace. Well done, Bob!

Kara, your loving tribute to your dear father is so moving and beautiful. He was the best! Thank you for the photo of Dad and Vance taken during the Easter Hunt at my church, which I printed. He was the best to so many people in the ways we knew him. I miss him very much. It was a joy to get to know Mom and Dad after they moved here. Always uplifting. You have been blessed with the best parents anyone could hope to have. Thank you for letting us walk this journey with Mom and your family as you both updated us on CaringBridge. If I could say my dog Abby had a favorite person, I know it would be Dad. She still looks for him by the garage as he grilled supper hoping he had a treat in his pocket. My heart goes out to all of you.

Kara: It sounds like you were truly "daddy's little girl" and I was too. We will always miss our daddys but sweet memories will always live in our hearts.

Kathy, Kara and family,
You guys were the most supportive family Bob could have wished for. I heard that he had blood clots? If true, I know the suddenness with which that can take a life (Peg Recker). Bob was a star in life. I believe he's still a star. All you have to do is hold your head high and look up!

We too are in mourning; mourning the loss of a good friend, a good man. We know how he loved his family, each and every one of you - talking to Bob you could hear the pride in his voice. The world lost a good one. He will always be remembered.

Your Husband, Dad, And Pap, my Uncle Bob was a truly amazing man who blessed me too by his presence and genuine heartfelt friendship. We weren’t related by blood but by our paths we were bound as friends & he was my Uncle-no doubt!
He was oh so kind and not only talked but watched and truly listened with his heart.
I miss him.
Love ya Uncle Bob & thanks for the chats and smiles. Shine on!
