Journal entry by Carol Gray —
Hello all it's Sarah again. I just wanted to provide an update on how Dad is doing.
Dad is now one week past radiation. The start of the week was pretty rough. He wasn't sleeping well and he was in a great deal of pain. As the week continued he has gradually seen some relief. He does have a sore, scratchy throat which is a side effect of the radiation we were told to expect. He hasn't had the greatest of appetites as a result of this and the extreme fatigue he has had the last several days. That appears to be improving today though (Fingers Crossed).
We also received word on whether or not the insurance will cover his chemo. The insurance has approved to cover the treatment through December. The treatment itself will last 24 weeks, which means we will need to get approval granted once again at the beginning of 2021 as long as all goes well and Dad responds well to treatment. For now we are feeling grateful and optimistic.
Thank you for all of the continued love, prayers and support and I will post again next week.
