Welcome to Bob Hammond's CaringBridge site.   We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place.  


Bob was diagnosed with Dementia about 5 years ago.  Although we don't have a definitive differential diagnosis, the doctor's are pretty certain that the cause is  Alzheimer's disease.  We made the incredibly difficult, but necessary, decision to move him into a Memory Care Center.  After much research and prayer, Bob and Gerri moved to Plano, Texas in March of 2021.  Although they are unable to live together anymore, Gerri has a place very close to him.  They have family support in the area as well, which has been such a blessing to them both.

Had an appointment with dads's neurologist yesterday.  Such an answer to prayer to get an appointment with a memory care specialist at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.  Uncle Gary came along to help me out with dad.  Doctor ordered new blood work, and EKG and MRI.  We were able to complete the blood work and EKG yesterday.  No results on the tests yet.  Waiting on radiology to call me back to schedule the MRI.
