Journal entry by Shanda Thompson —
Last night BJ was able to get the wires out of his mouth and he is very happy to now be able to eat soft foods for the next two months. He has only been able to eat puréed foods since the accident. He has a few cuts/sores in his mouth so we are hoping that they clear up quickly for him.
& This morning he was discharged home!! He gets one week off & then He will start outpatient therapy at Pathways in Decatur 5 days a week. We are told that once they are able to assess him after the first week, that they will be better able to give us an idea of how long this therapy will last.
His kids and wife are thrilled to have him home and we are all grateful for your continued prayers as BJ adjusts to being back home and doing outpatient therapy. Thank you!!
