Dear Allie, I am heartbroken. I worked very closely with your father through part of his work with the Marriage Reality Movement, and my own husband just went through his second open-heart surgery in 16 months, so I know very well the worry you have faced. I am truly devastated to hear this news and regret not having talked to him recently. Though working from afar, we had the wonderful blessing to meet on a plane following the World Meeting of Families in 2015, after collaborating for a time. It was such a blessing and I'm sure the whole plane got an earful as we talked the entire time about our shared passions and faith. I considered him a friend and trusted colleague, though my life recently had taken my attention away from the project and to my family, and especially my husband with his own health problems. Please just know how much I appreciated and tried to share his work with others -- I just recommended his book to a friend today, not knowing this news yet. I was also at the MRM launch at the World Meeting of Families in 2015, and consider it a great honor to have been on his path for even a small amount of time. Please know how dearly loved and appreciated your dad was by many, namely me, and that he will be in our fervent prayers. God bless you all. I know he loved you dearly.
