The latest....
Dad has been moved to Columbia, SC for a few days in order for specialists to adjust his medication. He has been falling down more frequently of late & we desperately want to fix this if possible. Although he has dementia, unlike those with Alzheimer’s, he is still himself & understands his situation. His balance is compromised, which makes it difficult to avoid falls. He must have very strong bones (for which we are grateful). It is a small miracle that he hasn’t broken a hip or a leg. He is able to sometimes talk on the phone & still has his an occasional glimpse of that Bill sense of humor, although he often is non verbal, using hand gestures to communicate. He enjoys short visits from friends and family should anyone be in the Fort Mill area and want to stop by (once he returns). My Mom still lives in Myers Park & has the same address and phone number should you wish to contact her. She is remarkable in her ability to keep a positive outlook as she cares for Dad, as it is a sad thing not to be able to bring him home. She is grateful for the tremendous support from so many friends & family (especially Erin & Will and their families).
Love to all,
Stewart
