Sorry for posting a comment so late but just found Bill's page on Caring Bridge. I absolutely love this photo of Bill with his apple pies! What a wonderful way to celebrate Bill's life and I hope the Bryson Gang makes it an annual tradition of baking apple pies! I recall Bill's salmon recipes more than his other culinary skills but that he became an accomplished pastry chef is quite obvious from the photo! I often think back on the good times from the Northway and Valdez eras....the fishing, hiking, flying and just plain old fun with your family and friends. And a belated happy 40th....and 41st to BJ!

Happy Birthday, BJ. The first thing Blanche said yesterday when we woke up was, " It's BJ Bryson's birthday today." She has that memory for dates. What a creative and meaningful way to accomplish recalling a family tradition that Bill Sr. was known for and now sharing it with a way to send love and warm memories with Bill Jr. This is the plus side of technology. This allowed some happiness, acknowledging absence, and probably a few chuckles as the mantle of a treasured tradition is transferred on. Your family have participated in hand & hand and heart & heart throughout Bill Sr’s diagnosis, treatment and eventual death and now are finding ways to rejoice and celebrate a life that was lived with much intention. Praise God that love does not end. Praise God that your family is knit together and will be there for the waves of grief and joy that lie ahead. Thank you for sharing.
