Bill’s Story

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Bill had a heart valve replaced on June 10th. Following surgery he developed complications that resulted in a massive stroke. He is presently in the ICU on a ventilator and under heavy sedation. It is unclear how much damage was caused by the stroke at this time. Once Bill wakes up and is off the ventilator, the doctors can assess his neurological status more extensively.

We are asking you to keep Bill and his family in your thoughts and prayers. Bill has a long recovery ahead. But if you know Bill you know he is a tough guy and a fighter!!

Updates will come as we learn more about his condition.

We plan on using this site as a main communication tool. Barb and family are thankful for all the calls, texts, and messages, but it is a struggle to reply to all, so that is what we hope this site will help us with.

We will have Bill’s Celebration of Life on Saturday, January 20th from 1-4pm CST. It will be held at the Best Western Plus Dubuque Hotel in Dubuque, Iowa -3100 Dodge Street Dubuque IA 52003. As per Bill’s request and how he lived his life, food and drinks will be served. It will be a casual event and there will be an opportunity to share a story about Bill during the event. Please message below if you have any questions.
