Randy’s Story

Site created on November 17, 2020

I would like to thank everyone that has left messages and prayers for both Randy and Barb either by phone, text or Facebook.  I am Barb's daughter (Melynda) and will be keeping everyone updated as best as I can.

There is a link on this site for a GoFundMe account that will be raising money for Randy's medical bills and any additional expenses that may arise from his being in the hospital. Any little bit will help and is greatly appreciated as Randy has no medical insurance.

On November 16th, Randy was flown by AirLife from the Redmond hospital to Bend due to a brain aneurism (bleeding on the brain). He is in the ICU unit at St Charles.  As of 11/17 at 4pm, Randy is sedated and stable.  He has tested positive for covid and is currently on a  respirator (not a ventilator) helping him breath.  Randy has a list of health issues that are constantly being monitored aside from Covid including his brain, lungs, heart, liver and kidneys. He was assigned his own nurse who is only working with him (one nurse in the AM and another in the PM).

Please keep Randy and Barb in your thoughts and prayers. You can leave notes, words of encouragement, and prayers here so she can read them all in one place. This is a very scary situation we are facing. Barb and I are communicating with the doctors daily. We will be updating you as information becomes available.

Randy is so loved by so many in this community, so keep those positive thoughts and prayers coming.

YEAH!!!!

Randy is finally home,. out yesterday (Jan, 4th)  He needs to use a walker for now and tires pretty easily, but definitely doing well.  It will be a slow road to recovery but he is working hard to make it happen,

Barb and I would like to let everyone know how much we really appreciate all the well wishes and prayers during this trying time. We are thrilled he is home.

We will keep this page open for a couple more weeks, and look for Randy's Thank you notices in the local newspapers soon.

Again Barb and Melynda thank you all very much.
