Merry day after Christmas my dear friend. I remember the day I got your Facebook message while I was sitting on the beach in Florida....I was overwhelmed with feelings I couldn't describe, scared for you and what the future would hold, but knowing that we have a God that hears our prayers, wanting to help you but not knowing how except to be available and praying, remembering all the fun times we shared, you my awesome preceptor so many years ago who helped this naïve "Yooper girl" learn how to navigate the urban life, our boys the same age and our coed baseball games with the Biergarden jaunts after. Today I am overwhelmed again, with feelings I can describe; gratefulness for the person that gave you time back, happiness for your response to treatment and ability to spend time with your family, and overwhelming joy that I get to continue a friendship, albeit long distance, that is so very important to me. You are an inspiration of strength and love. God bless you, my beautiful friend, with continued recovery, strength in the hard times, and continued joy. And thank you to Jesus for the friend I will always have, the friendship I will always cherish, and the love I will always have for you.
