Betty’s Story

Site created on August 23, 2020

Welcome to Betty Dillon's CaringBridge website. On Friday, August 14th, she suffered a severe heart complication known as an aortic dissection, in which a large tear suddenly occurs in the main artery responsible for blood flow between her heart and brain. Thankfully, she made it to the hospital in time for them to perform successful emergency surgery, replacing the damaged aorta, and ultimately saving her life. Betty has many loved ones who care, and so to allow us to focus on her health and well-being, we are using this site to keep family and friends updated about her condition in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Journal entry by Scott Dillon

After two months, Mom has finally made it home!

She is still feeling weak during transfers and is working on strengthening her body, but she feels so incredibly happy to sleep in her own bed again.

This will be the final post on this site, but please feel free to send cards or well wishes to Mom at home as she continues on her road to recovery. We all feel so very grateful for the love and support.
