Betty Cobb’s Story

Site created on March 30, 2020

Welcome to Cobb’s CaringBridge website. This is Julie, Cobb's older daughter.  At first, I was using this site to keep family and friends updated in one place as I cared for Cobb in the last weeks of her life, then stayed on at Kendal to sort out and pack up Cobb's apartment.  Now, in light of the need to continue social distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic, my sister Emily and I are using this site as a virtual memorial for Cobb.  We appreciate your support and words of  love and encouragement.   If you have photos or videos to add, feel free to email them to julie.stewart7@gmail.com.  Thank you for visiting.

Journal entry by Julie Stewart

I have been back in Philadelphia a week, and am ready to end my entries in this site. Life moves on, and here there have been protest demonstrations for the last week after the murder of George Floyd. I admire and fear for the protestors in light of the pandemic.

Cobb wrote the note in the photos below and kept it on her bulletin board for several years. Sandy and Mary sent me the photos of the peonies a couple weeks after Cobb’s death.  And with that, I bid farewell to this passage.
