Hi Beth,

Even though I have not been following your posts here for quite a while due to our move to Florida, helping to take take of my Alzheimer's stricken mother, and dealing with some new health issues of my own--I have been thinking of and praying for you and your family. You have such a way with words and getting your thoughts out to others. You are amazing. Again, I am so glad for y'all that this was caught early. Much happiness, joy, and good health to you and yours! God bless you!

Beth you have an amazing way of sharing this journey with so much information along with "the Eakin humor".
I'm thankful for answered prayers that this would not be a terrible experience as some have had.
Continue to care for your health my friend.
Love and hugs to you.

Thank you, Beth for sharing your thoughts with us. These events in our lives can be made purposeful with the right perspective and I am thankful that your experience with cancer has seemingly brought you that perspective. Never to be downplayed but also no need for extra drama - I'm with you on that! Blessings, prayers, and all the good thoughts to you as you continue to heal!

Well, one more step taken. I like the hope-ology. And, to be honest, I'm a little bit sad you didn't ring the bell, exactly because everyone's journey is different and each person has to face his or her own limitations in one way or another. The bell is for everyone - saying "there is hope". For some, their hope is not in this life alone, but they wouldn't be there unless someone had hope for something better in this life. For some that hope is to have relief of painful symptoms. For others, arresting the process and slowing down progression of cancer that cannot be cured. For many, cure for the particular disease they are battling at the moment. For others, like you, hope to prevent recurrence. It's ok, though, I guess a smoothie is kind of like ringing a bell. You'll get your appetite back. (It is odd that such a short course of limited field radiation so far from the alimentary track contributed to not wanting to eat, but now we know it can happen!)
