Journal entry by Beth Stewart

I'm much, much better! 😃 My oncologist decided it was best if I discontinue chemo early because it was doing more harm than good. The GI doctor put me on some medication that helped and the further away from chemo I get the better I feel. I met with some surgeons from Yale New Haven Hospital last week. I had an MRI yesterday to compare with the one I had before chemo.  I have surgery scheduled for a single mastectomy and removal of my lymph nodes on February 16 at Yale New Haven Hospital. Then approx. 4 weeks post surgery I will most likely have radiation.  Once my skin heals from radiation ( if I have it) I will have reconstructive surgery, probably 6 months or so from now. And my hair has just started to grow back 😃😃😃 So that makes me very happy!!
