David and Bethanne,
I was so pleased to receive this update. Thank you for taking the time to write to let us into your lives with all its joys and sorrows. I recently finished watching the Netflix series on the Tour de France, and while impressive, those cyclists have nothing on you both. They might be powerhouses of physical endurance, but your spiritual endurance and faith rouse not the praise of a few thousand on the sides of roads, but millions upon millions in the heavenly realms and thousands of us who live with you still in the now but not yet of the Kingdom of God. Christ is in you, the hope of glory. Congratulations on your beautiful grandsons and the upcoming wedding of your daughter Caroline. David, Gail is right. Bethanne wants you to take care of yourself. Please do. You are so important. Please tell Bethanne that the Lord brings her to mind at seemingly random moments, but so piercingly does her name come to my heart and mind that I know the Lord is accomplishing something for her in that prayer. Nothing with our good Father is random though much is profoundly mysterious and inscrutable. Tell her I am so sorry that she cannot hold her grandsons as she wants. I am so sorry. That is certainly one of those inscrutable things. May the Lord be near you at all times. Much love,
Chris

I loved reading this update. Just this morning Scott and I were talking about you two, wondering how you both are. What a nice surprise to get news from you the same day! I can imagine how cute your grandsons are…they come from good stock. Sending love and a hug. Mary and for Scott.

Great update, David. I continue to pray for Bethanne, you, Emily, Caroline and Matthew, and spouse and fiancé (I should learn those names. You put them in your lovely post). Scott and I are well here in NYC.

I just came from a visit with an elderly friend who is likely in his final days. We've known Addis since the '80s, and he participated in the Calvary AIDS ministry with us. While with him today, we discussed the "not knowing" aspect of suffering. When that topic comes up, my mind always goes to Bethanne. So, yes, I was just earlier today thinking of you two.

As I shared with Addis, it's not easy. I noted you wrote that Bethanne's mother's last 48 hours were tough. I'm thankful that the apostle Paul put some perspective around these difficult life issues by referring to them as light and momentary troubles. I imagine that's in contrast to the wonderful eternity that we'll share together.

Grace and peace, my friend. Pass the word of my love on to Bethanne.

I'm so happy to hear an update from you about Bethanne because I was just thinking of her the other day. Sorry to hear about her mom because my mother died in April. Tell her hello from her "Prayer Partner" for Bama and I'm so happy to hear about her newest grandson and upcoming wedding! Cara Pratt Chute

Dear David and Bethanne,

Thank you for this update. Dave, you write with insight, positivity and humor. This is the Dave Moles we remember from Cal days! So happy to hear of the joy of a new grand, and the excitement of a wedding in the future. Bethanne, we pray for you and yours with hearts that share the hope of eternity with Jesus, where we will know and understand and our tears will be dried.

We still live in the Bay Area and love our friends, church, community and the glorious weather. We have three grands, Maddie is three and our Caity has twin boys who are two. None live nearby, but at least they are in CA so we visit regularly. Such joy!

Sending love and prayers,

Jeni and Jerry Engler

David, thank you so much for the updates and for the wonderful news of your new grandson! We were blessed with a grandson about 2 months ago as well. James and his wife welcomed our little Ernest Henry. Please let Bethanne know that I pray for her and your family every day. Hope to visit again next time we are in PA.
Fondly
Dot

I’m so sorry to hear about Ms Mary. In high school I thought she was always so beautiful. I knew that she had been living with May May. Best wishes to you Bethanne.
