Dearest Family & Friends,

Quick update for Bess' healing journey:

A couple of weeks ago we met with our oncology team to review results from our last chemo/immunotherapy treatment and got the greatest news that the tumor was almost gone!!  The Docs are not sure if the chemo drugs or immunotherapy drug or a combination of, made this happen but WE DO KNOW that everyone's prayers and the Good Lord has had a profound effect on Bess' healing.

The next phase is to eradicate any cancer cells left with daily radiation and once a week chemo for 6 weeks. Then cap it off with a fun trip to New Orleans for Mardi Gras!

We are still humbled by all your love, support, food, cards, errands, rides to the doctor, etc. etc. but especially your continued prayers that give Bess all the strength she needs.

"I have on the whole armor of God" (Ephesians 6:11)

All our love, Bess & Steve

Scan Results & Next Treatment Plan

Dear Family and Friends,

First, we trust everyone had a Joyous Christmas & wishing you all a Blessed and Healthy New Year!

In mid December we went to M.D. Anderson and met with a young brilliant breast cancer oncologist  who totally agreed with Bess' treatment plan.

Then we headed to Jackson, Mississippi and had a fabulous Christmas with Neilley & Louis, The Lampton's, Lamars and Bess's sisters, the O'Briens and the Henrys.

God is so good and Prayers were answered with the scans showing the tumor shrunk an incredible 80%! The two chemo drugs plus the one immunotherapy drug couldn't have attacked the beast any better so we feel very blessed. Round 3 of chemo will be next Thursday, then take we a break and head to Deer Valley.

Towards the end of January, Bess will begin a new regime of daily radiation and weekly chemo for a period of 5 weeks to eradicate the tumor.

We appreciate everyone so much for all your thoughts, food, errands and especially prayers ~
Keep them coming!

"Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." Mark 11:24

Round 2 of Chemo Treatments

Dear Friends and Family,

Jesus, Head of the Church, said "For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says" (Mark 11:23)

We had a good day starting with a check-up before starting chemo infusions in the afternoon...Bess has regained a good portion of her voice so our MD is highly encouraged that the chemo is working it’s magic ! We have been also blessed in that Bess’s reaction to the immunotherapy drug from Round 1 didn’t force her to take steroids to calm things down...She had a couple of tough days but not taking steroids allowed that drug to keep doing it’s thing !

Before the chemo treatments we also had lunch with good friends at UTSW in the intake lobby...Many people go through this fight so it was good to be with Callie, Elizabeth, Julie and Steve being the necessary male force there... We are so grateful for Callie's healing, Lord.

On Monday of this week Leslie took Bess to get her wig and it looks great...Picture below...

This past weekend we had a great time in St.Louis at our nephew Evans wedding who married precious Emma!  Congratulations!...Great Times together with Bess’s large family siblings, in-laws, nieces, nephews and lots of cousins!
It has been a good few days and our energy is high...We head to MD Anderson on Tuesday of next week until Friday or so...We simply want to make sure that they agree with the chemo protocol and the 2nd part of our plan based on how the tumor reacts...Part II can go in several different directions...

Thanks for all the love and support...When we got home tonight ther was a great meal, flowers, more food, gifts, more food...  Thank you, We can feel the love, prayers and Gods healing hand
curing Bess already,  Y’all are wonderful!  We believe in God's word without a doubt and we believe
by Jesus' stripes I am healed.  (1 Peter 2:24)

Love, Steve and Bess

In Thanksgiving to all of you.....

Bess had her first chemo treatment last Wednesday...It took 6 hours but we were glad to get rolling on this part of the process ! Thanksgiving Day was a fun family day with Neilley, Louis, Campbell and Big George ( Steve’s Dad who is 86...) We were thankful to all be together...Neilley and Louis headed back to Jackson today with George back to CT...We are also thankful that so far Bess hasn’t had any bad reactions to the chemo and we look forward to that continuing this week !!  Bess can feel all the love, support, prayers, food, cards, flowers, hugs and texts and she is overjoyed with gratitude!

God Bless you all!

Steve and Bess
