Surgery Day

Many of you know the story of Ben's left foot and how he lost circulation to it during the 10 hour surgery in August. The first picture is what his foot looked like this morning before we went over to the hospital for surgery. Back in September, these toes were all black. Between the wound nurses and I we managed to get all the black eschar off and heal some open wounds on the bottom of this foot. The black tip on his second toe is the dead bone. So today they took that off along with the tips of the other three small toes due to osteomyelitis. The big toe was healed and so they didn't have to do anything with that. He came through surgery well and now has this lovely scooter for at least a week until we see Dr. Tucker again. His doctor was confident that this would be a one and done surgery and that he had gotten all the areas that had infection. Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes. The bumpy road is getting a little bit better.
