Ashley and Ben, I am not sure if you remember me. My is Sinclair Wong, Ben and I served together at Scott AFB, IL and Camp Humphreys, South Korea. Ben also helped my wife, Lisa, through a very traumatic and sensitive legal matter. For that we are forever grateful. I rejoined the Air Force as a Reservist and I have been going through pilot training recently. I have not kept up with you two as well as I meant to. There has been a lot that has demanded my full attention lately. Still I have meant to keep up with you two. I just realized I was looking at the wrong link and read this post. My family will keep your family in our prayers.

I am so sorry things have reached this point for Ben and the ones that will be left behind. When I was diagnosed with my cancer I always knew I would be fine, in the end. I just didn't know if I would be fine here on this earth, or in Heaven with the Lord. Either way, I was at peace and never felt fear of the outcome. For Ben to still have such a positive attitude he must also realize when this is all said and done, he will whole, complete and perfect with the Lord. May the Lord grant you the peace of also knowing where Ben will be and may he give you the strength to help the children through this. It is not going to be easy on any of you, so we just keep on praying for you. the kids, and extended family and friends. You know the Lord never promised to flatten any mountain we had to climb, but he did promise to always be with us and he always is. God bless you all.

Ashley, how does one respond to such heart piercing words! Your response to such devastating news blesses me, because of your grounded faith in the most pure truth that is known to your heart, God is good and though your circumstances tell you a different story you are not moved! Prayers to you and Ben, and the kids as you follow the leading of the Spirit, to bring Him Glory as He comforts your hearts!

Ashley, while we do not personally know each other, I’ve had the pleasure of learning about you and your loving family through Ben’s social media. We went to school together for a brief period at Seoul American HS in Korea and had a few mutual skateboard friends in common.
I remember as a middle schooler, watching him and our friends skateboard all across the military base we lived on, attempting new tricks, the more dangerous the better it seemed. A distinct fact I randomly remember though, was that Ben was the best skateboarder of the group . Everyone wanted to be like him and skateboard like him and do all the tricks he could do. Whenever someone would finally master one of Ben’s tricks, in no time he’s raise the bar and a new trick would lead the way( usually something extreme involving lots of stairs and or railings )

I’m at a complete loss for words at the moment reading your post , but want to thank you for being so so brave and strong in sharing your story and Ben’s journey with us.

My heart breaks for you all. Know that your strengthen and perseverance has made a difference in so many lives. Ben is such a special soul!

Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

Sending love

Hanan
