Becky’s Story

Site created on October 18, 2021

Becky is a get it done, no matter what it takes kinda gal.   You know I refer to her as my Ride or Die…. I want you to know we are sharing her story to make people aware of doing Mammograms and Skins Screenings.   Early detection is the best strategy.

Becky has fought Melanoma Cancer for multiple times.  She has had numerous occurrences and numerous removal surgeries.  She has always had a great attitude.  Matter of fact you would never even know.  I can assure you that we will fight through this.  We trust God has his hand over us.

This time it’s a little different.  Oct 8th we went for a follow up visit from a biopsy and the doctor delivered the news.   Breast cancer.   She had a growth that was detected early and monitored.  Since then we have had a few appointments with tests and consults.   Becky is very definitive on what she wants done.  It’s almost as she was prepared for this moment.   I’m such in awe of her even keel attitude.  She never ever has complained.   She said if nothing else it’s just frustrating feelings.

The outpouring of support has been amazing.   We want everyone to know that we appreciate your kindness and support.  We don’t know what we don’t know right now except that we will take this one day at a time.  We are setting a plan for our household infrastructure to make this the most comfortable environment we can for Becky as she starts her recovery process.

Please do not express sorrow, for the Lord assures us he will walk with us.  We lift our hearts up to the Lord and ask for nothing. We make no negotiations with Him.  We have learned that what happens will be His will.

We pray that the medical team is strengthened and that the practice the wisdom bestowed upon them.  We have a great medical team, we understand what is in front of us.

I pray for my children that they have peace and learn the beauty of their mother is not only in the surface.  She is beautiful because of her bravery, patience, and her strength.

At a time like this, Becky still puts the family needs first.  She is so selfless and kind.   I could not be who I am without her walking through life with me.  We are ready, we will focus on her.   We will get through this.   We can do hard things…

Journal entry by Jay James Miralles

Becky will have a Bone Scan today as another part of the series and tests.   We appreciate all the messages, cards, meal train, prayers, and all the love you all have shown.  As you all know, Becky is really a person of a few words and mostly action.  We spend a lot of time reading your messages, it encourages us and raises our spirits.  Becky is really determined and steady-minded to beat this.  She is carrying on just as much as she normally would.  She is mindful of her health as the surgery approaches Nov 10th with eating better and exercising.    We are getting our infrastructure in place.  We will put one foot in front of the other.  Our faith and patience are guided by our Creator.

I want you to know how valuable it has been to hear from all of you.
