Newest Update

Journal entry by Jordan Gill

Good evening,

As we come up on the one year anniversary of Becky going to be with her Savior, I am reminiscing about our journey. Becky truly was a warrior throughout. Her steadfast faith was awe inspiring. We miss her dearly and know she is singing in the heavens. She made the world a better place. She made Maya, Kenz, and I better people. She made her family better. She made her friends better. She made her co-workers better. You get the point. I hope her journey can inspire us all to Love God, love one another, forgive each other, and enjoy each day because each day is a blessing. Death and grief are impossible to explain from afar. Beckys story will live on forever to those she touched.

On a personal and family update. I want to send Steve Wyatt, Carlyle Naylor, and the Journey church team another thank you. They gave us a celebration that we can go back to in times of need. I especially appreciate Steve’s words from his experience with Cindy. He spoke so many truths and I am honored to have his support. Becky has continued blessing the girls and I. You see it’s hard to know where to go after you lose your young spouse. For the first six months the best way I can explain the girls and I lives is being lost. We went through the motions. We drug ourselves up or stayed in bed when we couldn’t get up. We cried and we laughed. I began reading the Bible from front to back. Becky inspired me to be a better Christian, father, and friend. I’ve dedicated my life to our two girls. Being a single father of a special needs 14 years old girl and a 10 year old girl who misses their Mom is next to impossible. I do my best and only get through it with faith. We must move forward as a family and Becky has blessed me with someone who I can see myself sharing life with. She will always be an integral part of our family. When you think your day is hard be thankful for what you have. The girls are doing ok. Kenz has an extremely difficult situation herself. She lost her mom but also feels like an only child. She has a sister but one she can’t communicate or play with. One that only mostly annoys her. Maya is doing well and ready for freshman year 😳. I don’t know how the 6 am alarms will go but we will for sure need prayers for that. We have had some fun family trips and just celebrated my parents 50th anniversary in Santa Fe a few weeks ago. I am here to help if anyone needs help in getting through a difficult time. We are blessed by those that continue to support us and thankful for friends and family. Much love to all and live your best day until you can’t.

Love,

Jordan, Kenz, Maya
