Journal entry by Greg Paugh

So, this morning, the girls were able to talk to their Mom for the first time in over a week. They had huge smiles on their faces and were very excited to hear her voice. They told her all about their week and all about the boys they don’t like. I know Erin was beaming on the other end of the phone. Squeezing the girls, I think, has been her biggest motivator in all of this. It was a great morning!

Erin spent her first night in her luxury suite and was able to use the restroom all by herself. She’s up and walking without assistance and is doing her exercises to make a speedy transition to come back home.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of you. The flood of love and support has really made things a lot easier for me to be with her through this. Thank you to John and Laurie for being there that first night/day and helping me and the kids through the worst night of our lives. Thank you to Robin for everything you have done for Erin, me, and the kids. Your visits helped calm Erin as she woke up and was scared. Thank you to my parents for taking such great care of the girls and basically being our stand-ins this past week.  You guys have stepped in to our chaos and made it flow so easily. Thank you Deb for making sure Jada had her birthday party and for the fantastic cake. Thank you Tami for watching Harley and sending us all of those amazing pics that kept us smiling! NO YOU CANT KEEP HIM!!! 😉.  Thank you Dana for caring so much and the baskets you gave the girls. You have been nothing short of amazing! Thank you Maddie for helping me understand all of the medical jargon and being there when we needed you most. Thank you to everyone else who’s love could be felt the entire time. Everyone at EVI, all of my friends/family in VA, EVERYONE!

From the bottom of my heart, thank you. We love you all more than you’ll ever know. I am forever in your debt.
