Barbara’s Story

Site created on April 18, 2018

Barbara Ann Wood now age 71 has through the years struggled with many health issues. From diagnosis of Type 1 diabetes at age 9, several years later cancer, two open heart surgeries, 12 heart stents and the many other health complications associated with these illnesses. One thing has remained a constant through it all, her faith and confidence in God and love for Jesus.

This past weekend she came to Dallas with the family to visit Tonetta (Toni) even though, come to find out she really wasn't feeling well. The trip was for her other daughter Tesha Beardsley's birthday celebration and second opinon from a neurologist. (Revealing her constant selfless character)

She became very sick very fast and after two trips to the ER she was admitted to Methodist Mansfield Hospital for treatment of kidney failure. After the first night in the hospital due to blood pressure issues she was transferred to ICU. Kidney dialysis was started and improvement was celebrated by the family giving God all the glory.

On night 4 she became very restless and anxious , having a great deal of pain. She found comfort as the family sang songs about Jesus and she mouthed to the songs smiling largly.

The next morning on day three of dialysis she began having trouble breathing and after many tests it was determined that she has sepsis and pneumonia . The Dr has recently made rounds to discuss the overall plan to treat all these life threatening issues. Momma is very very sick and needs a miracle. We all believe our faithful and loving saviour Jesus is with us and with her. We are standing on His promises and believe He can and has brought good out of this situation. From praying with a nurse we didn't even know to having the Dr say she too was praying, to funny laughter in the waiting room with uncle Mike and aunt Mary Ann, and adopted family member Glynda, to the countless love messages from all our family and friends we kniw we are so blessed.

Love to you all. We will continue to keep everyone posted thru this website.
