Journal entry by Amy Alexander —
Hello all,
Today, I decided to set up a CaringBridge account for my Momma.
I learned about CaringBridge when I was going through my own breast cancer journey, and I found it to be a way for friends and family to keep up on what is going on in the world of their loved ones, but also it is a great platform to offer support that person as well.
I'm sure many of you have been touched by cancer in some way or another, and the impacts of that can be overwhelming - but, even more so for the person who is going through it. I have been watching my mom stomp through each of these different appointments, pokes, prods, surgeries and now, Chemo with incredible determination and strength. I feel blessed that I can be right here with her to support her in the ways I know how.
The next steps of this journey are going to be tough, but nothing is too tough for her to handle. Those who know and love her, know that she is a superhero. Nothing knocks her down for long! As amazing as she is, however, she still hasn't discovered how to grow a money tree, and the bills are starting to pile up. "Cancer ain't cheap!" I heard her say this morning.
Here is where you all come in! This is a way for friends, loved ones, and family to chip in and lighten the financial load for our family. :)
I will keep posting updates here as they come - and feel free to post thoughts, pictures and well wishes, too!
Thank you for your support!
