Journal entry by Presten Fry

Hello friends and family - - The last several weeks have been quite a difficult journey and series of procedures for Barbara. At the end of January Barbara was healing and mending quite well from hip surgery. She was happy and well-adjusted in getting around their home. At this point the medical team harvested healthy stem cells to be reintroduced later. This happened on one day and her newest round of Chemo was the next day to basically kill off all stem cells and cancer. Later in the week her healthy stem cells were reintroduced and she and Dan began a chapter of being at the Cancer Center daily. Unfortunately, Barbara had difficulties getting enough fluids and nourishment. She also struggled with swallowing. She was admitted to the University of Kansas Medical Center for several days to help strengthen her up. Barbara returned home about a week ago. Barbara and Dan continue their daily treks to the. clinic to receive potassium and other nutrients. This process has been hard and difficult.   I know they continue to be grateful for your continued messages, cards and texts as well as your prayers. Please continue to lift Barbara and Dan up in your prayers and thoughts.  We all look for healing and better days in the near future.
