Laura’s Story

Site created on October 3, 2018

On September 7th 2018 a beautiful baby girl was born! Shortly after she was born she was diagnosed with a medical conditions called stridor. It is a condition that does not allow the vocal cords to open like they should. Which in turn makes it hard to breath. On September 11th 2018 baby Laura was transferred to the NICU in Indianapolis. Where they have ran multiple tests to confirm her diagnosis and determine the best form of treatment. On September 28th 2018 she underwent surgery to have a trach tub placed to help her to be able to breath better. She will remain in the NICU for the next few weeks while she heals. Please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers while we go through this new and difficult journey.

Journal entry by Holly Ehrman

She was so bright eyed tonight during mommy cuddles! Can’t wait to get the NG tube out for good! We tried the bottle for the first time since her surgery today and she did awesome! They are going to do another swallow study tomorrow. Just to make sure everything is good. So then we can increase how much she takes from the bottle.
