Welcome to our CaringBridge site. It has been created to keep friends and family updated about our daughter Shay and her health and heart.

If you are new to the site or are not familiar with Shay's history, please feel free to scroll through the previous posts in the Journal.  The first post was put on the site in February of 2009 and Shay was born a few weeks later on March 9, 2009.

Journal entry by Mike Connell

I have some fantastic news!
My heart biopsy came back and I have a rejection level of 1R!!! This is second to 0. It basically means that I have a tiny bit of inflammation, but no true rejection or anything that requires treatment.  My first biopsy in July, 2022 I was also a 1R. My second biopsy in October was a zero. They said it really just depends on what part of the heart they take the biopsy from.
So-we are celebrating and leaving for a two-week driving trip to South Dakota on Monday morning to see some good friends and explore the Black Hills and Badlands of SD.  Let the summer fun begin!
I would not be where I am today without all of your love, support, prayers, and of course the grace of God. I am so thankful and blessed!

Love,

Shay
