Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting!

Chad and I are so excited to announce we are expecting a baby boy due on May 20, 2020.  Unfortunately, on January 15, I went into the hospital because I was experiencing some bleeding and complications.   We found out my water broke ,and because I am only at 22 weeks, I was transferred from Methodist Hospital in Des Moines to the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City.  We will stay in Iowa City at the hospital for as long as needed to keep the baby safe and sound inside.  

We are remaining positive and will provide updates as we have them.  For now, it is just some rest in the hospital for me and Chad being the best, most supportive husband and dad!

Owen Richard Burton

Em and Chad welcomed Owen Richard Burton into the world this week.  Unfortunately, his life was short as he passed away from rare and unexpected circumstances during birth.  On behalf of our whole family, we appreciate everyone's thoughts and prayers during this tough time. A private service will be held for Owen with family on Sunday, March 1.
