Journal entry by Brittany Mack

Little by little Asher is growing stronger and bigger, yesterday he gained weight and was 5lbs. One of the big things is he needs to be eating and maintaining his weight. This morning i called and they turned down his cannula flow from a 3 to a 2! And depending on how he handles that the nurse has permission to turn it down accordingly. Please continue to pray that his lungs get cleared of the excess fluid left from birth and that he continues to breathe slowly. He's been having moments of rapid breathing.
If he can maintain breathing slowly tomorrow i will be allowed to attempt breast feeding, which is a big step in him coming home. Also this weekend his IV line was taken out! Basically he's almost free of all the equipment on him once he is able to breathe without the cannula <3

Thank you all for the continued love, support and prayers.

This next week is going to be tough as i will be driving back and forth staying the nights when I can with him. Any help would be greatly appreciated as we fell behind in rent due to lee missing a week of work. And we need gas money so i can get to Asher since he's an hour and a half away from me 💔😭

Thank you in advance <3
