Avery’s Story

Site created on November 23, 2010

Avery John born November 5th, 2010 with Pulmonary Vein Stenosis in all four pulmonary veins. Underwent two heart catheterization and one open heart surgery. Showed his true fighting style and pulled through each time. Our sweet angel went back to heaven on March 16th 2011. He went peacefully sleeping in his mother's arms. He will forever be our little champ.

On November 5th, 2010 @ 11:05pm our sweet angel Avery Alfonzo was born weighing in at 6lbs 8oz & 19 inches long. He has brought instant joy to our family. He is the mini clone of his father but with tons of mommy’s hair =). Shortly after our angel came into this world he started having difficulties with his blood pressure, respirations and feedings. We stayed at North Collier Hospital for a week and have now been in Miami Children’s Hospital for a week. Our little man has under gone several tests and we are now starting our journey. Avery has been diagnosed with Pulmonary Vein Stenosis. He is a fighter and we know he will continue to show us how strong he is and how strong our family is.  I am a firm believer in this saying now “You never know what true love is till you have a child, And you never know how strong you are until you are fighting for your child”.

The heartwalk was a great day. A wonderful way to spend what would of been avery's first birthday. We did the full 5k =) GO TEAM AVERY

We surpassed out fundraising goal and Miami Childrens was thankful for more donoations. Trying to organize something for christmas for the kids at the cardiac center. Toys / Donations are welcomed. If anyone has any good ideas let me know.

I'm going to put together care packages for the parents as I know first hand how it feels to spend your holidays at the hospital with your child.

Love to all and missing my sweet angel every day. I know the last year has been a roller coaster of emotions. Some moments i'm proud of some i'm not. I want to thank all our family and friends for the support and dedication to my mini family. You all are amzing.
