Currently, Aurora continues to battle for her life and I, Juan Duran (her husband), remain by her side for emotional support, and to ensure I am readily available to discuss her medical state and medical care plan with medical providers.

Aurora was 7 months pregnant, the first week of June she began to have symptoms and went to take the COVID-19 test, she came out negative but the symptoms continued. Aurora called her primary doctor and was told to stay home, that sometimes the tests are not accurate. The days passed and she began to feel more ill, on Sunday June 14th she could not take it anymore and went to the hospital where she was admitted immediately. The days passed the symptoms worsened and was then sedated and intubated on Friday June 19th . On Tuesday, June 23rd, her oxygen became very low and a c-section was required to save both of their lives. She delivered the baby while she was on the ventilator,fortunately the c-section had no complications. My daughter was born at 30 weeks gestation but luckily she is doing very well. Aurora began to improve very slowly. However, on July 7th things took a turn to the worst. At this time the ventilator is giving her oxygen at 100% .They have given her some treatments but the doctor says that apart from that- they can’t do anything else. Since Aurora has been on the ventilator for more than seven days, the ECMO machine would do more damage than help, according to the medical providers.
I know this is going to be a long journey with many financial burdens to our family, due to our inability to work,with medical bills and family obligations stacking up. I ask for any monetary contributions you can make and I thank you for your generosity.

Aurora tenía 7 meses de embarazo, la primera semana de junio comenzó a tener síntomas y fue a hacerse la prueba de covid 19, salio negativa pero los síntomas continuaron. Aurora llamó a su médico de atención primaria y le dijeron que se quedara en casa, que a veces las pruebas no son precisas. Pasaron los días y comenzó a sentirse más enferma, el domingo 14 de junio no pudo soportarlo más y fue al hospital donde fue ingresada de inmediato. Los días pasaron, los síntomas empeoraron y luego se sedaron y entubaron el viernes 19 de junio. El martes 23 de junio, su oxígeno se volvió muy bajo y se requirió una cesárea para salvarles la vida. Dio a luz al bebé mientras estaba en el ventilador, afortunadamente la cesárea no tuvo complicaciones. Mi hija nació a las 30 semanas de gestación, pero afortunadamente le está yendo muy bien. Aurora comenzó a mejorar muy lentamente, el 7 de julio las cosas se pusieron peor. En este momento, el ventilador le está dando oxígeno al 100%. Le han dado algunos tratamientos, pero el médico dice que, aparte de eso, no pueden hacer nada más. Dado que Aurora ha estado en el ventilador durante más de siete días, la máquina ECMO haría más daño que ayuda según los proveedores médicos.
Sabemos que este será un largo viaje con muchas cargas financieras para nuestra familia, debido a su incapacidad para trabajar, con las facturas médicas y las obligaciones familiares acumuladas. Le pedimos cualquier contribución monetaria que pueda hacer y le agradecemos su generosidad.
