Newest Update

Journal entry by Ashley Steinhauer

Hi, everyone!

I finally have started to feel somewhat back to normal since my last chemotherapy treatment, so I wanted to give you an update.  During my visit last week, the oncologist checked my tumor once again.  She was excited to report that she could barely feel any of the tumor left!  This was obviously awesome news and I am so happy that the tumor has shrunk.  However, there is still that part of me that will not be completely reassured until I have tests and scans done after I have completed chemotherapy.  I only have 2 more treatments left and I am ready to get them over with!

On Monday, January 27th I have an appointment with my surgeon and plastic surgeon to set up a date for my mastectomy and reconstruction.  As of now, I do know that my surgery and reconstruction will be between March 2nd and March 13th.

I wanted to also share with all of you a photo session that I did over the weekend with Rachel Farley Photography.  Ever since my diagnosis, I wanted to document my journey any way possible.  I had a specific vision in my head for some photographs and Rachel made them come to life. I have added a little collage of pictures that I have thus far and will share the others when I receive them.  I could not be happier with the outcome and will have these memories of my journey for years to come - even if it is an unfortunate situation!

Lastly, I wanted to remind everyone of the public benefit that is helping support me - Cars4Cause.  The benefit will be held on Saturday, February 8th from 3pm-7pm at Tilted Axes in West Chester.  Please follow the link and come out to support me and others in need! https://www.eventbrite.com/e/axe-throwing-fundraiser-with-cars4cause-at-tilted-axes-tickets-86371083235?utm-medium=discovery&utm-campaign=social&utm-content=attendeeshare&aff=esfb&utm-source=fb&utm-term=listing
